Our next guest is Daan Russcher. Daan Ruuscher (b. 1995) recently graduated from the photography department at the HKU University of the Arts in Utrecht. A few years ago he also completed the Bachelor of Built Environment, an influence that is clearly visible in his works. The research at the core of his work focuses on the spatial representation of urban areas. His personal experience is central to his work, which allows him to create a visual document that shows a different view of the traditional representation of areas. He often starts his projects by immersing himself in a specific place through photographic documentation. He aims his attention at fairly banal materials and objects that he finds during his encounters with the places. By doing so, he examines the physical characteristics of the urban area’s he captures. Subsequently, he uses an intuitive method during the creative process, in which he forms his own interpretation of this perception by applying digital interventions and constructing his own materials
